A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northeastern Cheyenne County until 5:45 PM MDT. The storm was located over Lodgepole at 5:18 PM MDT, and is moving southeast at 20 mph.

The storm is capable of producing ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. People and animals outdoors will be injured, and hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles is expected. Wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees is also possible.

The storm is expected to remain over mainly rural areas of east central Cheyenne County. This includes Interstate 80 in Nebraska near mile marker 77.
